RoboCut
This Project was submitted to Parallax by Mux Elektronik
MUX Elektronik created this autonomous BASIC Stamp® microcontroller controlled electric lawnmower. Using infrared sensors for object avoidance and a buried wire fence to define the yard parameters, RoboCut mows the yard in a random pattern while unattended. When battery voltage is low, RoboCut finds its way back to the charging station for refueling. MUX Elektronik is currently working with larger lawnmower manufacturers designing a new prototype. RoboCut uses some standard off-the-shelf parts from Parallax, including the infrared detection system modules, a Motor Mind B, a BASIC Stamp 2 module, and carrier board. The motors are from hand-held vacuum cleaners.
