 7-Segment Daughterboard (Slave Unit)
The 7Seg-DB daughterboard modules each provide four digits of LED display, including some alphabetic and punctuation capability.). With the master module installed, up to seven additional slave modules, 7Seg-DB(S) (#28313), can be added, daisy-chain-style, for a total of 32 contiguously-displayed digits. With the downloadable AVR driver firmware, any PBASIC program written for the MoBoStamp-pe gains high-level control over the functions of the 7Seg-DB, without having to worry about display refresh, segment encoding, and the like. Writing to the display is as easy as sending it a string. In addition, you also have several special effects at your disposal, including dimming, vertical and horizontal scrolling, fixed-width numerical fields with leading zero suppression, and selectable display windows. When combined with Parallax's (upcoming) aluminum extrusions - designed especially for the MoBoStamp-pe and its daughterboards - it will be easy to produce a finished-looking controller and display device you can be proud of.
